 BURLINGTON, NC — Mrs. Sue Simmons Brooks, 89, of Burlington, NC died at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 9, 2015, following a brief illness.
 
 A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of 56 years to the late Herbert Alexander Brooks and the daughter of John D. Simmons and Mamie Miles Simmons, both deceased. She retired from Western Electric as an Administrative Assistant and was a member of the Pioneers Club at Western Electric. Other memberships include the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), the Alamance Regional Medical Center Auxiliary (Pink Ladies), the Alamance Regional Medical Center Senior Advantage, the American Red Cross and the North Central Alamance Fire Department Auxiliary. Sue was a member of Stony Creek Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women.
 
 Survivors include a daughter, Carol Brooks Caffarel and husband James of Greensboro; son, Ray Simmons Brooks of Burlington; four grandchildren, Brian J. Caffarel and wife Claire of Raleigh, Katy Sue Caffarel of Wilmington, Tyler Simmons Brooks of Burlington and Carson Quinn Brooks of Burlington; one sister, Doris Simpson of Burlington; and a sister-inlaw, Naomi Simmons of Elon.
 
 She was preceded
 
in death by two sisters, Myrtle Allred and Eva Coble and four brothers, Edgar, Doake, Claude and Earl Simmons.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at Stony Creek Presbyterian Church on Monday, April 13, 2015, at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Randy Wellford.
 
 The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m.
 
 Memorials may be made to Stony Creek Presbyterian Church, 2140 Stoney Creek Church Road, Burlington, NC 27217 or to the North Central Alamance Fire Department, 595 Altamahaw Union Ridge Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
