BURLINGTON — Mr. K. Gary Simmons, 54, of 155 Sartin Road, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2002. A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Sherry Haith Simmons and the son of the late Earl Jennings Simmons and Margaret Leath Simmons, who survives. Mr. Simmons was owner of Simmons Engineering and Surveying, a member of Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church where he was the past chairman of Deacons, a member of the Christian Business Men’s Club, president of Graham Rotary, Board of Directors of the Siloam Missionary Home and member of Gideon’s International.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Haith Simmons of the home; daughter, Miss Ashley Caroline Simmons of the home; mother, Margaret Leath Simmons of Elon; and brother, Dennis A. Simmons and his wife, Mary, of Elon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Marvin Simpson, pastor of the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Simmons will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8
this evening, and at other times at the home.
