Was born January 20, 1912, at Burlington, NC.

A US Navy veteran of WW II, he served aboard the USS Wisconsin in the South Pacific and received nine battle stars for combat. Later an electronics technician for Sears Roebuck in Burlington, he still later worked at Glen Raven Textile Mill. Five feet, seven inches tall, with brown hair and eyes, fishing was his favorite pastime. Active in the Glencoe and Pinecroft Baptist Churches, he served as deacon in the latter.

He died of lung cancer January 7, 1982, at Burlington.

Burial was at Alamance Memorial Park.

He married (1) August 6, 1932, at Danville, VA, Hazel Elizabeth Testerman, born 1911, daughter of P.R. and Sarah (Hagood) Testerman;
(2) October 31, 1947, at Graham, NC, Naomi Lee Wilson, born November 1, 1921, daughter of George M. and Annie Wilson. She lives in Burlington, NC.
