Nina Smith Wilson Ryan


    REIDSVILLE — Nina Smith Wilson Ryan, 85, of 1048 Rice Road, Reidsville, N.C., went to be with her Lord Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at White Oak Manor, Burlington, N.C.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Citty Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
    A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lessie Hall Smith and had lived in Caswell County her entire life. A retired employee of Burlington Industries, she was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Spencer Lee Wilson and William F. Ryan; two daughters, Kaye Wilson and Edna Somers; two grandchildren, Stacey Somers and Tracey Somers; a great-grandchild, Samantha Pernell; and a sister, Alma Sartin.
    Survivors include three sons, Frank Wilson and wife, Lula, of Wilmington, N.C.; Mac Wilson and wife, Marenda, of Elon, and Ronnie Wilson and wife, Joy, of Burlington; two daughters, Norma W. Barrow and husband, Archie, of Burlington, and Ginger W. Moore and husband, David, of Fancy Gap, Va.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Cowan and husband, Scott, of Danville, Va.; a brother, Hilton Smith and wife, Nell, of Reidsville; a sister, Eva Paschal of Reidsville; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of CWing at White Oak Manor and a special thanks to Gail Combs for their kind and loving care throughout Mrs. Ryan’s illness.
    The family will see friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Citty Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence.
