Mary Elizabeth Troxler Wade 


    GIBSONVILLE — Mary Elizabeth Troxler Wade , 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2007, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital after two weeks of declining health. She was a native of Alamance County, and a loving wife for 63 years to the late Arthur R. Wade , and the daughter of the late Robert Banks and Daisy Smithey Troxler .
    Mrs. Wade  worked for May Hosiery Mills until marrying. She then became a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a member of the choir. In years past she served the church as an alternate accompanist. She loved singing and playing the piano. Her hobby and pastime was making quilts and working with her flowers and in her garden.
    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harold T. Wade  and his wife, Jean, of Gibsonville; daughters and son-in-law, Daisy Raisanen, Kathy Griffin and Louise Joyner and her husband, Larry, all of Gibsonville and Jessie Lee Saul of Raleigh; sister and brother-in-law, Lora Lee Wade  and her husband, Robert (Pete), of Gibsonville; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Lewis, Estelle Troxler , Lona Mae Wicker, Kate McMillan, Irene Howerton; brothers, Ira, Thomas, B.C., Wilbert, Robert, Howard, Paul, Willie and Edward Troxler .
    The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Rev. R. Richard Dawson, O.S.L. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., and at other times at the home, 4454 Jug House Road, Gibsonville, N.C.
