MCLEANSVILLE — Mrs. Betty Jo McMasters Brown, loving mother, 77, of Timbermill Road, McLeansville, passed on to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 5, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, at South Elm Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brown was born December 8, 1930, in Guilford County, N.C., to the late Joseph Rankin and Alice Dorothy Austin McMasters. She was a homemaker and a member of South Elm Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Calvin Brown and a daughter, Debbie Brown.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Brown of the home and Sandi Lennon and husband, Tim; two grandchildren, Casey and Tim Lennon, II of McLeansville; sister, Alice Prevatt of Fountain Inn, S.C.; brother- in-law, John Brown of McLeansville; best friend, Nona Brooks of Greensboro and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC, 28215 or the American Diabetes Association, 222 S. Church Street, Suite 336-M, Charlotte, NC 28200.
