Annie Kate Kernodle Hill
January 1, 1930 ­ July 8, 2015 Resided in Elon, NC

Annie Kate Kernodle Hill, age 85 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Hospice home. She was the wife of the late Billie Albian Hill who died on January 23, 2006. They were married for 50 years.

Annie Kate finished school at Altamaha­w Ossipee High School in 1948. She continued her education at Elon College where she graduated with a BA degree in 1953. She also attended William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia and The University of Richmond. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. Annie Kate was a school teacher for 37 years, teaching at Glencoe School and also in Kaiserslauten American Elementary school while her husband as stationed there with the US Army. When they returned to the states Billie was stationed at Ft. Lee in Virginia and Annie Kate taught at Prince George Elementary school. After retiring Bill and Annie Kate returned to Burlington and built a new house and she continued teaching at Clover Garden School and she finished at Altamahaw­ Ossipee school, retiring in 1990.

Annie Kate was a member of the NC Retired School Personnel, member of the ACE and the NCAE. She is also a member of the retired Government Employees and a member of the DAV auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hill Tucker of Elon; grandchildren, Casey Nicole Tucker Collins and husband, Brandon of Gibsonville and Allison Leigh Tucker of Gibsonville; great grandchildren, Albian James "AJ" Collins and Kasen Ray Collins; sister, Bobbie Mae Massey and husband, John of Burlington and her canine companions, "BooBoo" and "Bessie" and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Talmadge Caffey and Elizabeth Cantrell Kernodle and a brother, Gordon Talmadge Kernodle.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Alamance­Caswell for their kind and compassionate care for Annie Kate.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Todd Felkel.

The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church and other times at the home, 3442 Amick Road, Elon, NC 27244 256, Annie Kate Kernodle Hill
