Billie  "Bill" Albian Hill 

    GIBSONVILLE — Billie  "Bill" Albian Hill , age 77, of 1201 Carmon Road, formerly of Burch Bridge Road in Burlington, died on Monday, January 23, 2006, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, and the husband of 50 years to Annie Kate Kernodle Hill , who survives.

    Bill retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class after 21 years of service to his country. He was a graduate from the School of Mortuary Science in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served in Korea, Japan, Germany and Vietnam and was the First Sergeant in Mortuary Affairs in Danang, Vietnam during the war, where he received the Bronze Star. He completed his last tour of duty as an instructor in the Quartermaster School at Fort Lee, Virginia.
    Bill later retired after 21 years with F. W. Woolworth as the Stock Room Manager. Bill was an active member of Bethlehem Christian Church, where he served as an usher, trustee and as past president of the Layman’s Fellowship.
    
Survivors include his wife, Annie Kate Kernodle Hill  of the home; daughter, Patricia Hill  Tucker of Gibsonville; granddaughters, Casey Nicole Tucker and Allison Leigh Tucker, both of Gibsonville; son-in-law, Samuel Rainey Tucker of Gibsonville; and his favorite aunt, Hortense Sharpe; special dog, Noel; and his cats, Bam Bam, Miss Kitty, Baby and Bear; and recently a new baby rabbit named Buddy.
    
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Albian and Gladys Mae Austin Hill .

    The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert, and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The U.S. Army will provide full military honors at the graveside.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the residence.
