Mr. Gordon Storey Kernodle

BURLINGTON — Mr. Gordon Storey Kernodle, 65, of 1735 Birchwood Dr., passed away Wednesday July 17, 2002 at his home following 5 years declining health.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Anne Sullivan Kernodle and son of the late Caffey Talmage and Elizabeth Cantrell Kernodle.

Mr. Kernodle was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, a retired truck driver and lifetime farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Sullivan Kernodle of the home; 3 sons, Gordon Talmage Kernodle and his wife Jennifer of Burlington, Robert Allen Kernodle and his wife Tonia of Lexington and Dennis Michael Kernodle and his wife Lynn of Gibsonville; 1 daughter, Mrs. Susan Kernodle Maue, PhD and her husband Rob of Clearwater, FL; 5 grandchildren, Talmage Neil Kernodle, Robert Gordon Kernodle, Elizabeth Blake Kernodle, Sandra-Anne Lillian Kernodle and Kayla Marie Maue; 2 sisters, Mrs. Annie Kate Hill and Mrs. Bobbie Massey both of Burlington.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 19, 2002 at Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor of the church.

Interment will follow in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.

Mr. Kernodle will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Thursday. At other times at the residence.3, Mr. Gordon Storey Kernodle
