William  "Big H" Howard Leath 


    BURLINGTON — William  "Big H" Howard Leath , age 82, of 3753 Burch Bridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006. He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of 64 years to Emma Maybud Faucette Leath .
    Howard  retired after over 40 years of service with Burlington Industries at the Williamsburg Plant and was a farmer in the Burch Bridge Community. He attended Bethel United Methodist Church and was an avid sportsman. He was a member of the Whitetail Hunting Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Howard  was a member of The Green Top Baseball Team and he played semi-professional ball for years. He was a member of the Piedmont Horsemans Association. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather.
    Survivors include his wife, Emma Maybud Faucette Leath  of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Roney and her husband, Gene of Burlington, Kay Foster and her husband, Wayne of Burlington; son and daughterin-law, Billy Leath  and his wife, Jo of Burlington; grandchildren and spouses, Johnny Foster and his wife, Sonja, Connie Woody and her husband, Ken, Michael Beckom and his wife, Tracey; greatgrandchildren, Abby Foster, Bayleigh Foster, Kolbe Woody and Katey Beckom; stepgreatgrandchildren, Amanda and Myleigha Michael; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Otis "Bobby" Leath  and his wife, Anne of Burlington; sister, Margaret Simmons of Elon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Otis and Stella Patterson Leath ; brother, Daniel "Dan" Ellis Leath ; stepgranddaughter, Denise Mann.
    The funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette and the burial will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and other times at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
