Mr. Deuel Monroe Busick Sr.
WHITSETT — Mr. Deuel Monroe Busick Sr., 87, of 6902 Burlington Road, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after two years of declining health and a critical illness of one week.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Frances Overman Busick, who survives, and the son of the late Thomas J. Busick and Lillie Chrismon Busick.
He was retired from P. Lorillard and was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Delinda Farrell and husband, Tommy, of Mebane and Mrs. Kelly Faucette and husband, Robert, of Burlington; a son, Mr. Deuel Monroe “Monty” Busick Jr. and wife, Ann, of Fuquay Varina; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Oliver of Gibsonville and Mrs. Virginia Smithey of Browns Summit; two brothers, Mr. Leo Busick and Mr. Marvis Busick, both of Browns Summit; and four grandchildren, Mrs. Holly Almond of Apex, Miss Heather Farrell of Mebane, Mr. Michael Busick of Wilmington, and Mr. Rob Busick of Fuquay Varina.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. C. Allen Myers III, and Dr. Dace Lewis. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Whitsett Fire Department, 809 N.C. 61
