November 22, 1956 ~ May 15, 2024 (age 67)
Anne Miller McDowell, 67, passed away on May 15, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Anne was born in Alamance County on November 22, 1956 to the late Charles and Evanell Miller. She is survived by her loving daughters, Abigail McDowell, Amber Thomas and Amber’s husband Buddy.
She is preceded by her son, Wesley Blake Evans and her sister, Elizabeth King.
Other survivors include her niece, Ashley Mulhausen and husband John, nephew Lewis Smith and great nieces Lyla and Evelyn Mulhausen. Anne loved her pets dearly and is survived by her cats, Lucy and Rickie, and granddog, Boone.
Anne was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, and aunt. Anne was a wonderful, funny, and caring person (most days), who loved Life. She was often referred to as the life of the party. Anne enjoyed shooting the breeze to anyone who listened. Anne loved spending time with her daughters and extended family. She enjoyed traveling to various beaches, mountains, and sporting events with her daughters/son-in-law and visiting her great nieces in San Francisco and Toronto. Anne was most looking forward to meeting her Granddaughter, Elizabeth Winstead Thomas who is due in July.
Anne was a retired school teacher who taught math in the Guilford County school system for over 27 years. Prior to passing away, Anne was a tutor in the Guilford County school system. She was a dedicated teacher who loved to reminisce with her former students. In her free time, Anne was a Mary Kay salesperson who enjoyed talking and selling make-up.
Anne was a graduate of Graham High School and East Carolina University and one of the biggest Duke fans.
