OBITUARIES Mrs. Helen Johnson Beckom
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Helen Johnson Beckom , age 59, of 3172 Mansfield Road, Burlington, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of Jerry A. Beckom , and daughter of the late George Sidney and Mary Estelle Bost Johnson . She had been employed by Gold Toe Hosiery for 29 years and was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she served on the Board of Trustees and was in the church choir.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry A. Beckom of the home; two daughters, Beth B. Perry and husband, Larry Wayne Perry, of Burlington and Jackie B. Davis and husband, Bobby Lee Davis Jr., of Burlington; sisters, Sue Johnson and husband, Bill, of Julian and Gladys Culberson of Siler City; brothers, Larry Johnson and wife, Kaye, of Gibsonville and Sidney Johnson and wife, Mary Anne, of Burlington; grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth Perry, Jessica Nicole Perry and Joseph "Cole" Davis; and her mother-in-law, Margaret Danieley Beckom of the home. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ray Johnson and Clyde Johnson ; and sister, Mary Lois White.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette, pastor of the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Beckom will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening. 3, Mrs. Helen Johnson Beckom
