Mr. W. Elton Apple 
    ELON — Mr. W. Elton Apple , 80, of 2920 Lowe Road, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at his residence.
    A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Kitty Lowe Apple , who survives, and the son of the late William Earley Apple  and Hattie Payne Apple . He was a farmer and auctioneer of Apple’s  Auction Service. He was a charter member of Faith Bible Chapel and was a member of the Adult Sunday school class. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre.
    Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. Ronnie Lee Apple  and wife, Sandra, of Elon; a grandson, Mr. Jeffery Todd Apple  and wife, Donna, of Elon; two great-granddaughters, Miss Brooke Nicole Apple  and Miss Anna Marie Apple ; a brother, Mr. Elver Whitt Apple  of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Lula Apple  Cobb of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Ingle, Mrs. Pauline Apple Apple , and Mrs. Florence Cheek; and three brothers, Mr. Eugene "Jack" Apple , Mr. Wilbert Apple , and Mr. Milton Apple .
    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Mark Robertson, and the Rev. Felton Massey. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence.
