Billie Gray Hawkins Underwood
BROWNS SUMMIT - Billie Gray Hawkins Underwood, 79, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Underwood was born in Guilford County to the late Bill and Pearl Hawkins. She was a longtime and faithful member of Brown Wesleyan Church. She retired from Sears, loved her family, her garden and flowers. Her biggest passion was serving others.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Opal Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Underwood of the home; sons, John Underwood and Tim Underwood and his wife, Wendy; brother, Arthur Hawkins and his wife, Ann; sisters, Carolyn Murray and husband, Clyde and Peggy Powell and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Justin Patterson, Justin Vail and Jamie Pearl Underwood along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Alamance County and her caregiver, Lilly Taylor for the love and care shown to Mrs. Underwood during her time of need.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brown Wesleyan Church at 4355 High Rock Rd., Gibsonville, NC 27249 or Hospice of Alamance County, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday, July 24th, 2016, at Brown Wesleyan Church, 4355 High Rock Road, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
