William Milton Isley


    BURLINGTON — William Milton Isley, age 83, of 4664 Friendship-Rock Creek Road, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Ingold Isley and son of the late W. Gladstone and Mary Bess Nicholson Isley. He was a well known farmer in his community, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he served as head usher and was known for his many ticket sales to the church Barbecue.
    Survivors include his brother, George M. Isley and wife, Lucy, of Burlington; sister-in-law, Barbara McAdams Isley of Snow Camp; nephews, George Isley Jr., Frank Eugene Isley, John William Isley and Junius Nick Isley; niece, Mary Isley Nicholson; great-nieces and nephews, Lonnie Nicholson Jr., Jackie Nicholson, Ashton Isley, Gage Isley, Chelsea Lineberry and Nikki Lineberry Harbeston.
    Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Nathan Hooks. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Isley will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at other times at the home.
    Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 2719 Bellemont-Alamance Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
