Mr. Leroy Edward Wagoner (L.E.), Jr., 79, of Snow Camp, NC passed away at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
A native of Alamance County, he was born on March 4, 1945, and was the husband of Rachel F. Wagoner, who survives and the son of Leroy E. “Pete” Wagoner, Sr. and La Rue Holt Wagoner, both deceased.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark A. Wagoner.
L.E. was owner and operator of Wagoner’s Seed Cleaning Business. He was devoted to his family and thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and yard work.
He was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, and was a part of the United Methodist Men. Serving as a Trustee, he also served on the Administrative Board and the Finance Committee. He was quite involved with the renovation of the educational wing of the church.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a son, Todd E. Wagoner and wife, Robin, of Pittsboro; two grandchildren, Frank M. Wagoner and Shelli J. Wagoner; sister, Janice W. Shoffner of Snow Camp; and brother, Gary H. Wagoner and wife, Angie, of Snow Camp.
Visitation will be held at Mt. Pleasant Church on Tuesday, May 21st from 12:45-1:45. The funeral will begin at 2:00 followed by a burial in the cemetery. The address of the church is 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty, NC. 261, Leroy Edward Wagoner (L.E.), Jr.
