OBITUARIES Mrs. Nora Brown Hensley
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Nora Brown Hensley, 66, of 1321 Parker Street, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 26, 2004 at her home. She was born in Alamance County, to the late James Walter Brown and the late Della Farmer Brown, and was the wife of Leroy Hensley of 49 years.
Mrs. Hensley was a loving wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend. She retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery after 20 years of service. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and was in the Gold Star Sunday school class.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include three daughters, Brenda Tuck and husband, Tony, of Burlington, Linda Jane Hensley of Burlington, and Elizabeth Roney and husband, Charles, of Haw River; grandchildren, Amanda Kelly Tuck, Matthew Lee Tuck, Branden Nathaniel Roney, and Zachary Noah Roney; and a sister, Flossie Vines of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pauline Brown and Gladys Freeman; and a brother, Garland Brown, Sr.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Glen Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Redding, and the Rev. Fred Treadwell. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home.

Burlington – Leroy Hensley, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Alamance county to the late Charlie Roy and Daisy Sessoms Hensley. He was the husband of 49 years to the late Nora Brown Hensley.
Leroy retired after 42 years with Burlington Industries. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and former member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Leroy is survived by his daughters, Brenda Hudson and husband, Ronald of Burlington and Elizabeth Roney and husband, Charles of Suffolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Amanda Kelly (Louie) Bonfanti, Matthew Lee Tuck, Branden Nathaniel Roney and Zachary Noah Roney; great grandchildren, Tyler Lee Tuck and Connor Mathew Tuck; sister, Mozelle Stinson of Burlington and a brother, John Henry “Johnny” Hensley and his wife, Alice of Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Linda Jane Hensley; sister, Barbara “Sissy” Stinson and a son-in-law, Tony Tuck.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday evening and other times at the home of his daughter, Brenda Hudson.
