OBITUARIES Mrs. Nora Brown Hensley
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Nora Brown Hensley, 66, of 1321 Parker Street, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 26, 2004 at her home. She was born in Alamance County, to the late James Walter Brown and the late Della Farmer Brown, and was the wife of Leroy Hensley of 49 years.
Mrs. Hensley was a loving wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend. She retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery after 20 years of service. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and was in the Gold Star Sunday school class.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include three daughters, Brenda Tuck and husband, Tony, of Burlington, Linda Jane Hensley of Burlington, and Elizabeth Roney and husband, Charles, of Haw River; grandchildren, Amanda Kelly Tuck, Matthew Lee Tuck, Branden Nathaniel Roney, and Zachary Noah Roney; and a sister, Flossie Vines of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pauline Brown and Gladys Freeman; and a brother, Garland Brown, Sr.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Glen Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Redding, and the Rev. Fred Treadwell. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home.
