OBITUARIES Thurman Oscar Hardy 
    GIBSONVILLE — Thurman Oscar Hardy , 94, of 8198 Troxler Mill Road, died Monday, September 20, 2004, at Alamance Health Care. He was the husband of the late Lela Holyfield Hardy , and the son of the late Saun and Molly Brown Hardy . He retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Betty S. Hardy  of Gibsonville; a son, Allen Lester Hardy  of Elon; a sister, Agnes Hardy  McKinney of Gibsonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Etta Lou Hardy ; a son, Bobby Joe Hardy ; a sister, Bertha Hardy  Wood; and a brother, Claude Hardy .
    The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2004, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dave Gilbert. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., and at other times at the home of Betty Hardy , 8196 Troxler Mill Road.
    The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Alamance Health Care for the way they cared for their father.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marvin Wallace Scholarship Fund, c/o Bethlehem Christian Church, 3625 Altamahaw Church St., Elon, N.C. 27244. 3, Thurman Oscar Hardy
