BURLINGTON — Annie C. Saunders Woody, 88, went home to be with her Lord and her beloved husband Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 72 years to the late Carl Eugene Woody who died March 28, 2015.
Annie retired from Burlington Industries. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was a former treasurer of the United Methodist Women and the treasurer of the Building Fund. Annie enjoyed her church, gardening, cooking for family and friends and was a great aunt to a lot of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Glenda Saunders; sisters and brothersin-law Bessie and Curry Lee Lassiter, Sara Underwood, Maggie Satterfield, Barbara and Sam Thompson and Peggy Pickard; sistersin-law, Alma DeBruler and husband Carl, Betty Saunders and Barbara Saunders.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Eugene Saunders and Mary Danieley Saunders; infant daughter, Ella Janette Woody; brothers, Roy Saunders and Junior Saunders; sister, Louise Baker.
The funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Stewart Crank. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2105, at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1421 Bethel Methodist Church Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
