BURLINGTON — Carl Eugene Woody, age 89 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of 72 years to Annie C. Saunders Woody who survives.
Carl retired from Petrolane Gas Company. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, member of the Methodist Men and he served on the cemetery committee and was a former Trustee of the church. Carl was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, gardener and great uncle to a lot of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Annie C. Saunders Woody of the home; sister, Alma De-Bruler and husband, Carl of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward Woody and Mae Cornelia Fuqua Woody and infant daughter, Ella Janette Woody; sister, Doris Woody and three brothers, James H. Woody, R.F. Woody and Clyde D. Woody.
The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral
Home Chapel by Rev. Stewart Crank and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1421 Bethel Methodist Church Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
