Mr. Clarence Levi Rascoe
GRAHAM — Mr. Clarence Levi Rascoe, 87, of 309 Trail One, died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at his home after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Elma Walker Rascoe, who survives, and the son of the late Arthur R. and Ollie Ector Rascoe. He was the retired owner of Rascoe Refrigeration Inc. and was instrumental in the growth and development of air-conditioning in North Carolina. He retired from Byrd’s Food Stores as the head of the Cooling and Refrigeration Department. He served in the Merchant Marines and was an avid hunter and dog trainer. He was a member of First Christian United Church of Christ.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jo Loy and husband, Dan, of Burlington and Kathy Bradham and husband, Doug, of Baltimore, Md.; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Rascoe and wife, Susan, of Burlington; a sister, Lillian Bowland of Burlington; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Nellie (Graham) Chandler.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Judy Westman, pastor of the First Christian United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and at other times at the residence.
