BURLINGTON — Mrs. Evelyn Rumley Conklin, 78, of 4408 Burch Bridge Rd., died Tuesday June 10, 2003, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
A native of Rockingham County, she was the wife of Daniel W. “Bill” Conklin and daughter of the late Walter Lee and Nancy Brooks Rumley. She was a homemaker, former operator of Conklin’s Grocery and Service Station and a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel William “Bill” Conklin of the home; 1 son and daughter-in-law Terry Dale and Mona Conklin of Burlington; 2 grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Conklin of Burlington and Lisa Suzzanne Conklin of N.Y., N.Y.; 1 sister, Mrs. Margaret Beckom of Burlington.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday at Glen Raven Baptist Church by Rev. Bobby Fann and Dr. Terry Prichard. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Conklin will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM this evening.
