BROWN SUMMIT, N.C. - Harrel V. Busick, 84, of Brown Summit, N.C., died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Annie Penn Hospital, after a brief illness.
Mr. Busick was born in Campbell County, Va., on May 31, 1924 to Charles and Ada Busick. He loved farming and watching the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves. He could make anything grow, and his crops were always top notch. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Nothing meant more to him than family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Campbell Busick; a sister, Patty Ree Busick Smithey; and a brother, Verlin W. Busick.
Mr. Busick is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tempie Harrison Busick; daughters, Beverley Stoakley and husband, Richard, of Salisbury; Rita Busick Cockman and husband, Leon, of Melba and Busick Ramsey and husband, Tony, all of Brown Summit; a son, Samuel Ray Busick and, Kathy, of Brown Summit; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, Dawn Stoakley of Salisbury and Dana Estrada of Camden, Del.; four great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Gladys Busick Outten, Williard Busick Peeples, Lucille Busick Zimmerman and husband, Raymond; sister-in-law, Frances Busick and brother-in-law, Hubert Smithey.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Rev, Don Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. 470, Harold V Busick
