BROWNS SUMMIT – Charlie Vernon Busick, 78, of Rt. 1, Browns Summit died Friday afternoon after several years of declining health.
A native of Guilford county, he was the husband of Mrs. Ada Brown Busick and a prominent farmer of the Busick Community. He owned and operated Busick Grovery for over 30 years. He was the son of the late Wesley and Hulda Flack Busick.
Final rites will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Don K. Ledbetter, pastor of the church, will preside.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Brown Busick, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. J. D. Outen of Salisbury, Md.; Mrs. Carl M. Peeples and Mrs. Raymond Zimmerman, both of Rt. 1, Gibsonville; Mr.s Hubert Smithey of Rt. 1 Browns Summit; two sons, the Rev. Verlin Busick of Denton and H. V. Busick of Rt. 1, Browns Summit; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Cook of Rt. 1, Browns Summit. 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until placed in the church to lie in state for 30 minutes before the funeral service.
