Bobby “Bob” Ray Rumley
ELON – Bobby “Bob” Rumley, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 28, 1933 in Rockingham County to the late Richard Manley and Peggy Alean Price Rumley and was married to Victoria “Vickie” Loftis Rumley for 56 years. Bob attended St. Mark’s Church and was a farmer who believed in hard work. In his younger days he had a band and enjoyed making music. He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Victoria “Vickie” Rumley; sons, Richard “Ric” (Vicki) Rumley, Bobby “Duke” (Diane) Rumley; daughters, Tracy (Chris) Langle, Kim (Craven) Smith; nephews just like sons, Craig (Karen) Rumley, Roger “Rooster” (Tracey) Rumley; grandchildren, Ashley Rumley, Brandon Rumley, Cooper Smith, Conner Smith, Christopher (Jennifer) Langle, Zachary (Alya) Langel, Jonathon (Kenzie) Langel, Shane (Allie) Langel, Travis (Christie) Brannen, William (Regina) Brannen; a brother Richard “Bill” (Sandra) Rumley; seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Rumley, Jack Rumley and a sister Betty Lou
Maness.
The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mike Mitchner. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. You are welcome to attend the service using social distancing and masks or watch it live on www.lowefuneralhome.com, you will also be able to sign the online register book.
Mr. Rumley will be available for viewing from 1:00 – 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home and 8:30 – 10:45 AM Saturday morning prior to the funeral.
