    BROWNS SUMMIT — Jimmie Lee Brown, age 69, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at UNC Hospital. He was born in Rockingham County to the late Everette Joe Brown and Reba Leo Goodman Brown. Jimmie was the grandson of the late Peter Rankin Brown.
    JimmieoperatedNorthcrest Market on N.C. 87 North for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Miami, Florida and Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a former member of Osceola Baptist Church. Jimmie had a great love for the outdoors as he enjoyed spear fishing, scuba diving and playing golf. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
    Survivors include his sons, Randy Brown of Elon, John Brown and his wife, Rhonda of Reidsville and Ian Brown of Wilmington; daughter, Hope Brown of Wilmington; grandchildren, Bradley Brown, Taylor Brown, Sharlotte Brown, Cassie Brown, Devyn and Cameron Hicks; sister, Joretta Johnson and her husband, Wesley of Burlington.
    A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Mitchener. The family will be at the home of Randy Brown at other times.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
