Jerry Robert Linville, 82, of Pleasant Ridge Road, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, at his residence.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 21 at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Jerry was born in Rockingham County to the late Lawrence O. Linville, Jr., and Ruth Knight Linville.
He married the love of his life, Barbara, on February 14, 1970, where they built a life full of love and happiness together.
His career began as a truck driver with Signal Delivery Service, later transferring to UPS, where he retired after many years of service. Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather. Away from work, he enjoyed being outdoors, and spending time with family. He was a member of Glencoe United Methodist Church and was a faithful servant of his Lord Jesus Christ.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Linville, his sister Hilda Linville, and brother Dean Linville.
He is survived by his daughter Chrystal Groce and husband Mark; grandchildren Mackenzie and Maddie; brother William Vestal Linville and wife Jackie; sister Barbara Rebb; and sister Joan Becker and husband John.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont for their support in his final moments of life.
