Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Pickett May
ALAMANCE — Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Pickett May, 86, of Alamance, died at 7 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at her residence.
A native of Randolph County, she was wife of the late Boyd E. May and daughter of the late William Russell Pickett and Minnie Garrett Pickett. Mrs. May was retired from Tower Hosiery Mill and member of Trinity Worship Center.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth May and wife Edna of Liberty and Mark May and wife Deborah of Alamance; three grandchildren, David Ross May Jr., Travis May and Angela White; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Ross May and a sister, Elizabeth P. Stout.
Services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 28, at Trinity Worship Center with the Rev. Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the residence.
