Boyd E. May
   ALAMANCE — Boyd E. May, 88, of 4262 N.C. 62 South, Alamance, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

   A native of Alamance County, Mr. May was the husband of Dorothy “Dot” Pickett May, who survives, and the son of the late Goley E. May and the late Hallie Cates May.

   Mr. May retired from GKN and was a member of Trinity Worship Center in Burlington.

   In addition to his wife, “Dot,” of the home, Mr. May is survived by two sons, Kenneth May and his wife, Edna, of Liberty, Mark May and his wife, Deborah, of Alamance; three grandchildren, Travis May, David Ross May Jr. and Angela May White and seven great-grandchildren.

   Mr. May was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Ross May; a sister, Helen Steele; and two brothers, Raymond May and Herman May.

   The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington, Friday, July 9, from noon until 1:30 pm.

   Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Darrell Cox. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

   When not at the funeral home, the family will be at the residence.
