Luther Monroe “Luke” Hall MEBANE — Luther Monroe “Luke” Hall, 79, of Mebane passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at his residence. Luther was born in Alamance County. He was owner and operator of Hall’s Auto Repair and Body Shop in Mebane for 45 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Glen Raven. Luther has been a volunteer fireman in Cedar Grove since 1976. He served as assistant chief for 15 years and served on the board of directors.
Luther is survived by his wife, Tanya Ann Haith Hall of the home. Son, Rocky Hall of Efland and daughter, Mary Lewis of Mebane. He has three grandchildren, Amy Tomlinson (Tyler), Anna Lisa Lynn, and Levi Lewis. One great grandchild, Teagan Tomlinson. Three sisters, Margaret Florence of Mebane, Bernice Carroll of Burlington, and Mary Donovan of Rutherfordton, NC.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Hall. Parents, Luther David Hall and Flossie Murray Hall. Brother,
Leonard Hall and a sister, Hazel Buckner.
A funeral service will be Monday, December
7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Glen Raven. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Hobbs and Pastor James Florence. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 4 until 6 Sunday evening. Other times they will be at the residence.
