BURLINGTON — Mrs. Esther Ona Ross Truitt, 97 formerly of Durham St. Ext. died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at White Oak Manor following several years of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Clifton J. Truitt and the daughter of the late Andy J. “Bud” and Ruth Story Ross.
She was a native of Alamance county and a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and a member of the Willa Loy Sunday School Class. She worked for May Hosiery Mill for many years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son; Keith Fowler Truitt of Mebane, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by: a son; Charlie Beal Truitt, sisters; Marie Amos, Fannie Crouse, Sadie Simpson, Bertha Beckom, Nettie Jones and a grandson.
The funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday May 27, 2003 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Robinson and interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
