Keith Truitt
Burlington-Keith Fowler Truitt, 90, left peacefully to be with the Lord at his "house on the hill" on December 3, 2015.
He was born May 21, 1925 in Burlington, NC.
He was the son of the late Clifton Joe and Esther Leona Truitt, and was married over 54 years to the late Davia Teague Truitt.
Keith graduated from Watchmakers' school in Spencer, NC and afterwards went on to co-own and operate the Bradley-Truitt Jewelry business in Mebane. During his time in Mebane, he met a pretty young teacher, named Davia Teague. In 1956, he married her and they made their home on Jackson St. in Mebane.
Together, they had two daughters, and are survived by Kim Wolfe and Kelly Ashley and her husband Mac, all of Burlington; and four grandchildren, Kristina White and husband Eric, Anna, Frank, and Leah Ashley.
Aside from his family and love for jewelry, he had many additional interests, including dachshunds, chocolate covered peanuts, clocks, watches, road trips, model cars and racing. He was a giving man, full of joy and laughter through all circumstances, and will be sorely missed.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tommy Privette and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 pm prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N C 27215
