Gregory “Gregg” Van Walker
SILER CITY — Gregory “Gregg” Van Walker, 66, of 6593 Silk Hope Liberty Road, passed away at his residence on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Joseph Ebb Walker and the late Sybil Perry Walker. He retired from Walker Brothers Grading and was a member of the Mason’s Siler City Lodge No. 403, Cowboys for Christ and the Fish House Gang.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Weddington and her husband Anthony, of Raleigh, and Julie Dawn Young and her husband Jeff, of Benson; four grandchildren, Nicholas Weddington, Chase Weddington, Blakely Weddington and Grayson Young; one brother, Barry Walker, of Graham; one sister, Judy Hayes and her husband Tommy, of Graham; and one sister-in-law, Ellen Walker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kent Walker.
A graveside service will be conducted at Graham Memorial Park on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Howard Thompson.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. At other times, they will be at 7822 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Snow Camp.
