Mrs. Sybil Perry Walker
GRAHAM — Mrs. Sybil Perry Walker, 81, of 814 Oakley Street, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center after 5 years of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was a member of the Burlington Assembly of God and a former secretary for the Steve Jordan Nationwide Insurance Agency. Survivors include 1 daughter and her husband, Judy and Tommy Hayes, of Graham; 3 sons, Joseph Kent Walker and his wife Ellen, of Snow Camp, Lance Barry Walker, of Saxapahaw, and Gregory Van Walker, of Siler City; 1 sister, Elsie P. Howell, of Graham; 5 granddaughters, Pat Hayes Walker, Leigh Hayes, Anita Walker, Jennifer Walker, and Julie Walker; and 2 great-grandchildren, Joseph Walker and Emily Walker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ebb Walker; her parents, Alsy Ambrose Perry and Maggie Duell Bayliff Perry; sisters Louise Burke, Hilda Ector, and Virginia Crutchfield; and brother, A.J. Perry.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Howard Thompson, pastor of Burlington Assembly of God. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham today from 3 to 5 p.m. and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Burlington Assembly of God Caring Kitchen, 821 Fifth St., Burlington, N.C.
