Lucille Andrews Rice
    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lucille Andrews Rice of White Oak Manor, formerly of Gilmer Street, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 25, 2004. She was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
    The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29 at Trinity Worship Center, 3157 S. Church Street, Burlington. She was a member of Trinity Worship Center for over 60 years. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Darrell E. Cox, the Rev. William M. Rice, and the Rev. H. Wade Rice. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
    Lucille Andrews Rice was born on November 19, 1913, to William A. and Maggie Andrews, in Burlington of which she was a lifetime resident. She was the wife of the late James Marvin Rice. She fulfilled her calling of being a mother as she dedicated herself to the task. She quit public work when her first child was born and did not return until her youngest married and left the nest. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
    The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at White Oak Manor as well as to everyone who has shown their concern by praying for, calling, sending cards and visiting. May God richly bless each of you.
    Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; stepmother, Rochina Stuart Andrews; sister, Mrs. O.G. (Beulah) Yarbrough of Burlington; brothers, Mr. Jesse Andrews of Burlington and Mr. James W. Andrews of Elon, N.C.
    The family she left behind consists of four daughters, Mrs. Sylvia (Mack) Richardson, Mrs. Mary (Dink) Walker of Burlington, Mrs. Hilda (William) Davis of Hillsborough, Mrs. Betty (Con) Puckett of Macclenny, Florida; three sons, Mr. J. Harold (LuAnn) Rice, the Rev. William M. (Sandra) Rice of Burlington, and the Rev. H. Wade (Toni) Rice of Whitsett, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; foster daughter, Mrs. Penny (Jim) Hatch of Burlington; and three foster grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mabel (Willie) Long; two brothers, Mr. Luther Andrews and Mr. Vernon Andrews, all of Burlington. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
    Visitation will be held on Wednesday night, July 28, at McClure Funeral Home on East Webb Avenue, Burlington, from 7 until 9 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of J. Harold Rice, 1922 Woodhue Drive, Burlington, N.C.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity Worship Center, (Building Fund), 3157 South Church Street, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or the charity of your choice.3, Lucille Andrews Rice
