February 23, 1947 - March 14, 2024
Kenneth Edward (Ed) Andrews, 77, died March 14, 2024, at Whitestone Care and Wellness Center after a brief period of declining health. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ed was born in Burlington, NC where he graduated from Williams High School and attended the Technical Institute of Alamance, receiving a HVAC diploma. He was employed for 40 years with D&L Parts, Inc. where he started as a counter sales rep. before working as an outside sales rep. in the Triad area and parts of Virginia. Eventually, he was named manager of the Winston-Salem branch and later as manager of the Greensboro branch prior to retirement.
On March 6, 1976, Ed married Beverly Spivey with whom he spent many happy years, doing everything together as a couple from traveling to working with the homeless through Westover Church, where they were members. His favorite activities were in the last 18 years as they volunteered with the Greensboro Police Department and the Old Starmount Community Watch program.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, James (Joe) Weldon Andrews and Effie Fuquay Andrews, and a son, Jonathan Lee Andrews. Surviving are his wife, Beverly (Bev) Spivey Andrews, of the home, and daughter, Lisa Stubblefield (David), grandson Joseph Stubblefield, and granddaughter Elisabeth, all of Greensboro.
The family wants to especially thank Maria Meadows and her agency and Erica Steed for their loving care of Ed as his health declined.
