LIBERTY – Mr. Michael Roger Humphries, 65, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
A native of Surry County, he was the husband of Janie Phillips Humphries, who survives and the son of the late Charlie Roger Humphries and Katie Holyfield Humphries, who survives.
Mr. Humphries retired from AT&T with 37 years of service. Following his retirement, he was employed with Ansco & Associates, Inc. He enjoyed playing golf, camping and woodworking.
Mr. Humphries was a member of Low’s Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and council member. He also served on several committees.
In addition to his wife of the home and mother of Burlington, survivors include two daughters, Courtney Humphries Gerringer and husband Eric of Whitsett and Kelly Martin and husband Charles of Pleasant Garden and two grandchildren, Adam and Katlynn Gerringer.
The funeral service will be conducted at Low’s Lutheran Church on Saturday , July 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. by Pastor John Mark Beam. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times the family will be at the residence.
