Mrs. Phyllis Fitch Walker, 73, passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 4:55 p.m.
A native of Durham County, she was the wife of Dr. Joel W. Walker and the daughter of the late Braudie Russell Fitch, Sr. and Myrtle Mae Bowling Fitch. Phyllis was a member of The Alamance Chorale since 1978, a volunteer with Guardian Ad Litem since 1989, a volunteer court navigator with the Family Justice Center and was a member Cactus Squares, Square Dancers Club.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include her daughter, Joan Carol Walker of Mebane; a special nephew, Tim Phillips and his wife, Carol of Swepsonville; a brother, Braudie Fitch, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Burlington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Darryl Peebles. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
