APRIL 8, 1932 ~ MARCH 17, 2019 (AGE 86)
Mrs. Vera Baulding Boone, 86, of Burlington passed away at her residence on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 8:47 a.m. following one year of failing health and two weeks of critical illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late John Philip Boone and the daughter of Walter F. Baulding and Lillie Furlough Baulding, both deceased. She retired from Asher McAdams Drug Company. Mrs. Boone was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women and the choir. She was dedicated to her family and a caregiver to many of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Ray (Stanley), Deborah Aldridge (Kenneth) and Libby Smith (Roger), all of Burlington; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Boney (Jon), Amy Ray Chinnici (Jim), Ashleigh Wood (Joey), Joseph Ray (Stephanie), Ryan Smith (Nicole) and Matthew Smith; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Warren; and two sisters-in-law, Theo Baulding and Jane McGavran.
Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer, John, William and Richard Baulding.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times, the family will be at the home.
The funeral service will be conducted at Faith United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Lee Edwards. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
Donations may be made in memory of Vera Baulding Boone to Faith United Methodist Church, 1732 West Davis Street, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice homecare nurses and to her care angels, Denise Cheek, Anita Beaber, Jane Carroll and Chasity Griffin for all the wonderful care given to Mrs. Boone. 3, Vera Baulding Boone
