Elsie Lee Allison Ward

    BURLINGTON — Elsie Lee Allison Ward, age 82, of Garden Road went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Dazzie Vance Ward.
    Elsie retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 30 years and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother.
    Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Preston and his wife Linda, of Thomasville and Rickey Waddell Wilson and his wife Jessica, of Burlington; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Ward Loy and her husband Dean, of Elon; grandchildren, Ronald Lynn Preston, Renee Preston Lawson and her husband, Mike of Lexington, Avery Lynne Wilson, Malachi Vance Wilson, Amber Petty and Chance Dean Loy; greatgrandson, Bobby Lawson; sisters, Florence Allison Brown of Burlington, Maxine Allison Wilson of Asheboro; and a brother, Charles L. Allison of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Charles Lee and Bertha Small Allison and 10 brothers and sisters.
    The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church by Dr. Tommy Cook and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
