Mary Ruth Freeman
Mary Ruth Freeman, 74, of 727 Huntington Court, Burlington died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 after several years of declining health and two days of critical illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Woffard Samuel “Sam” Freeman and the daughter of the late John Archie Baker and the late Irene Williams Baker. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a member of the Alamance County Line Dancers and TOPS at Ossipee Baptist Church. Mary Ruth and her husband Sam attended Shamrock Evangelical Church for over 60 years and loved their church family. At the church she was a member of The Willing Workers, her Sunday School Class, and the church choir.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Trollinger (Tony) of Haw River; one son, Sammy Freeman (Arlene) of Burlington; and three grandchildren, Hannah Sims, Caleb Trollinger, and Ashley Sizemore (Joseph).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Crutchfield;
four brothers, Clyde Baker, Thomas Baker, Cecil Baker, and Ralph Baker; and one granddaughter, Jordon Trollinger.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Jimmy Burks.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
The family would like to thank Dr. Choksi, his nurse Hannah, and the rest of the staff at the Cancer Center for the care and compassion given to Mary Ruth.
