Millie Clapp Loy
April 27, 1935 — November 13, 2024
Burlington

Millie Clapp Loy, 89 of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Millie was born on April 27, 1935 in Alamance County to Herman and Myrtle Mae Clapp.

She was the wife of 70 years to Wade C. Loy who died in September.

Millie retired from Burlington Industries, Pioneer plant after many years of service. She was a lifetime member of Friendship Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary, and she kept accounts of those members in attendance each Sunday to help the church stay in touch. Millie enjoyed taking care of her Goldfish in the pond behind her home where she kept a greenhouse for her flowers and plants. She along with her husband had a garden for many years. Millie loved going to Myrtle Beach, SC with her family and friends, sunbathing and taking strolls along the water. She always kept tabs on her nieces and nephews never forgetting special occasions with a card or phone call. Millie was heartbroken with the loss of her husband of 70 years and they are now together again in Heaven!

Millie is survived by three nephews on the Clapp family side and eight nieces and nephews on the Loy family side along with many great nieces and nephews.

Millie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Agnes C. Belvin and Mary Ellen Andrews and her nephew, William Andrews.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 3PM at Friendship Church by Pastor Mike Kelly with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Church, 4612 Friendship Patterson Mill Road, Burlington, NC 27215
