Wade C. Loy
July 17, 1934 — September 29, 2024
Burlington

Mr. Wade C. Loy, 90, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Wade was born on July 17, 1934 in Alamance County to Robert and Ida Loy. With his love of building and repairing things, he owned and operated Loy Construction.

Wade was a longtime member of his beloved Friendship Church and held many positions there over the years, including Chair of the building committee. He counted many among the congregation as close friends. Wade also loved to get together with his friends and family in the evenings and play card games. He had a passion for fishing, whether it be at the coast or in a friend’s pond, he just loved his time spent outdoors.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ida Loy; and his brothers, Robert Edward Loy, James Harold Loy, Donald Alexander Loy, Dewitt Talmadge Loy, and Warren Harding Loy.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 70 years, Millie Clapp Loy; sister, Elizabeth Loy Combs and husband John; brother, Robert Earl Loy, Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.

Service details will be announced shortly.
