JUNE 22, 1951 ~ JANUARY 19, 2019 (AGE 67)
Mr. Randy Lynn Sykes, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, Mr. Sykes was the husband of 30 years to the late Cynthia “Cindy” Blanchard Sykes and son of the late Samuel Taylor Sykes and Betty Sykes Brown, who survives.
He was retired but owned and operated Sykes Drywall for over 30 years later working part time as a delivery driver for Asher McAdams. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, golfing, playing poker, watching Cops and Andy Griffin, spending time with his companion, Kay Jones, and taking care of his beloved pug, Wednesday, schnauzer, Bella and grand pup, Sophia.
In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by his daughters, Angela Sykes Seagraves and Christina Lynn Palacios, both of Burlington; son, Stephen Taylor Sykes and wife Dagmar Sykes of Burlington; and daughter, Randi Sutton and husband Jonathan of Myrtle Beach, SC; 11 grandchildren, Victoria Genopolos, Ashton Seagraves, Catalina Palacios, Preston Taylor Sykes, Kalynn Sykes, Cindy Sykes, Austin Anderson, Joanna Jones, Marissa Bridgers, Mark Broome and McQuade Sutton; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Bridgers, Miles Bridgers, Aiden Sutton and Layla Sutton; two sisters, Jami Brown and Debbie Lee and her husband Roger; brother, Tim Sykes; and several cousins, uncles, aunts, niece and nephews.
In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, A. E. Sykes, Sr.; grandmother, Elsie Capps Sykes; grandmother, Katherine Story Rochester; and grandfather, Samuel Lee Story.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence. 3, Randy Lynn Sykes
