OBITUARIES Frederick Merion Ellington
    BURLINGTON — Frederick Merion Ellington, 77, of 207 Laurel Hill Drive, died at the Hospice Home on Monday, December 15, 2003. He was a native of Rockingham County and the son of the late Frederick Pinkerman and the late Thelma Crews Ellington.
    Merion was retired from Pet Diary as a plant manager after 42 years of service and he later retired from Atlas Marketing Company after eight years of service. He was a former long time member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He was currently a member of the Powerline Church of the Nazarene. Merion served during World War II in the U.S. Army in the 2 nd Armored Division.
    Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mildred Lee Hutcherson Ellington of the home; daughter, Phyllis Ann Ellington of Alexandria, Virginia; granddaughters, Lisa A. Staubs of Alexandria, Virginia and Amy L. Staubs of Falls Church, Virginia; sisters, Virginia Frazier of King, North Carolina and Carlene Amick of Edenton, North Carolina; brother, E. Maynard Ellington of Graham, North Carolina.
    The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powerline Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Tim Taylor, and the Rev. Dennis Wyrick. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the home.
