Mr. James Lewis Chriscoe
BURLINGTON — Mr. James Lewis Chriscoe, 66, passed away at 3:15 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the Hospice Home in Burlington following 2 1/2 years failing health.
A native of Guilford County, he was son of the late Elvin Lewis Chriscoe and Clara Clapp Chriscoe, who survives. He was a Sgt./E-5 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict with the 199th Light Infantry Battalion, a salesman at Dick Shirley Chevrolet and a member of Brick Reformed Church.
Surviving are his son, Heath Lewis Chriscoe of Burlington; his special partner, Wanda T. Murray of Burlington; his mother, Mrs. Clara Clapp Chriscoe of Burlington; his sister, Carolyn Chriscoe Braxton and husband Dennis of Burlington; his brother, Aubrey Vance Chriscoe and wife Charleen of Burlington; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lee Chriscoe.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16 at Brick Reformed Church with the Rev. Kristin Vaughn and the Rev. Clarence Toney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening and other times at the residence of his sister, Carolyn Braxton.
