John H. Gerringer
   GIBSONVILLE — Mr. John H. Gerringer, 82, of 226 Circle Drive, Gibsonville died at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 5:30 a.m.

   A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Linda Mitchell Gerringer, who survives and the late Ruth Smith Gerringer. He was the son of Henry Rankin Gerringer and Venie Michael Gerringer, both deceased. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member and former board member of Gibsonville Christian Church.

   In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his daughter, Janice Wyrick Wood and husband David of Gibsonville; a stepdaughter, Renea Cobb and husband Brian of Greensboro; a grandson, Blaine Wyrick and wife Teresa of Gibsonville; two granddaughters, Jennifer Turner and husband Chris of Burlington and Beth Pate and husband Jeremy of Staley; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Anna; a special granddaughter, Stephanie Dean; and a sister, Edna Leonard of Greensboro. He was looking very forward to the birth of his twin grandchildren, due to be born in the fall.

   He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ingram; a grandson, Jeffrey Wyrick; a stepson, Gary Charles Scoggins; and a stepgrandson, Lee Scoggins.

   A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. by Pastor Daniel Jennings. The family will receive friends at the residence.

   Memorials may be made to the Hospice League of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Gibsonville Christian Church, 325 Burke Street, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
