LIBERTY - Brenda Kaye Richardson Garrett, 75, passed away shortly before midnight on Friday, March 20,2020 after a 8 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
Brenda was born on June 10, 1944 in Newport News, Virginia. She was raised in Kimesville, NC by the late Grover and Naomi Richardson. She lived many happy years in Liberty with her late husband of 59 years, Daniel Garrett and her loving children, Lisa and Patrick. Brenda worked as beautician in her earlier years but spent most of her life sewing upholstery and hosiery. Brenda loved playing Bingo and spending time with her family and friends who all adored her fun and loving personality. Even though she struggled with her memory during her last few years, her family will cherish her and keep their memories of her close to their hearts.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Naomi Richardson; husband, Daniel Garrett; son, Pat Garrett; and brother, Bud Richardson. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lovett; sisters, Evelyn Williams, Sherry Gravely, and Cathy Adams; grandchildren, Joshua Garrett, Jacob Garrett, Cody Lovett and Jamie Lovett; greatgrandchildren, Tristan Haley; extended family, Jeremiah Murray, who she considered a grandson, and Suzie Woodring, who she considered a daughter. She also leaves behind many other family and friends.
