MEBANE — Mrs. Allie Cornelia Blalock Clayton , 92, died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at 4:45 a.m. at Alamance Health Care.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce C. Lowe of Burlington and Joan C. Davis and husband Bill of Mebane; sons, Edward Bradsher Clayton and wife Jean of Mebane and Jerry Wayne Clayton and wife Cathy of Burlington; sister, Lou B. Blackard of Burlington; brothers, Franklin Blalock and wife Sue of Prospect Hill and Joseph Blalock and wife Sara of Graham; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice B. Clayton ; infant son, James H. Clayton ; granddaughter, Tanya Marie Davis; parents, James Weldon Blalock and Mary Haseltine Oakley Blalock; sisters, Sallie B. Aldridge, Margaret B. King, Lizzie Prichard and Frances King; brother, William Blalock; and son-inlaw, John O. Lowe.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at the McClure Funeral Service Chapel in Mebane with the Rev. Chuck Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Blalock Family Cemetery in Prospect Hill.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2008, at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane, and other times at the residence of the daughter Joan at 205 Edgewood Church Road, Mebane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blalock Family Cemetery Fund in care of Franklin Blalock, 2532 John Oakley Road, Prospect Hill, NC 27314-9404 or to the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell at 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
